It is LCT’s goal to cultivate continued interest in the theatre & performing
arts, and to bring new talent center stage!
In 2009, we produced Ye Gods!, written by Denton residents Bill Kirkley and
Sean Frith (December 2009).
In 2010, we brought audiences the hilarious and heartfelt Christmas Break by
Cynthia Crenshaw. Cynthia, a Dallas resident, won our 1st Annual Playwriting
Contest.
This year, our 2nd Annual Playwright Winners were Aaron Schultz and
Benjamin Keegan Arnold - their buddy comedy No Late Fees won the 2nd
annual contest.

Prospective scripts must meet the following guidelines:
• Playwright must be a current resident of the state of Texas
• Full cover page with playwrights mailing address and contact phone
number (please do not include a synopsis)
• Original full length play (preferably 1 hour or longer)
• Finished scripts only- no works in progress will be accepted
• Preferably 2-8 actors (character doubling is acceptable)
• Submission must be type written & submitted electronically to LCT’s
Artistic Director at artisticdirector@lctthecolony.org
• Deadline for script submission is February 29, 2012
Winner receives:
• Play produced during the 2012-2013 Season at LCT
• Playwright’s name included on all advertising for the 2012-2013 season (As
well as specific advertising for the winning show)
• Opportunity to participate in talk-back with audience & cast after one
performance (schedule permitting)
• A Small stipend
