| Lakeside Community Theatre is proud to announce our summer camps for Ages 7-11 & 12-18 Information for Both Camps: Camps are a week long (M-F) 9 AM- 5PM COST: $200/student (for hours 9-5) COST: $240/Student (for hours 8:30-6) Payments may be made online through our website, but please note there is a service fee charge Both camps will perform an original piece of theatre created by the students at the end of the week. This performance is free for family & friends! Students are asked to bring 2 snacks and a sack lunch. Bottled water is available for students, but there is no water fountain. Access to microwave and refrigerator is available for students. There is a minimum of 8 students in order to hold camp. LCT reserves the right to cancel either camp. July 25-July 29, 2010 Superheroes and Villains! Do you secretly want to be a superhero, or even a super villain? Come join us in July when we explore all that is behind superheroes and villains from original myths and beyond! Create your own Superhero/villain myth! Go through Superhero/villain training rooms throughout the Lakeside Arts Center! Learn facts & trivia about your favorite superheroes & villains! All while learning theatre basics and having a fantastic time! Throughout the week elements of theatre such as costuming (including mask work and makeup), playwriting (plot, characters, conflict, etc.) & Improvisational skills, will be incorporated into the superhero/villain program, resulting in an original theatre piece created by the students & performed for family and friends on July 29th beginning at 5:30. This is your chance to be a superhero or villain this summer… You don’t want to miss this fantastically fun class! Dragons, Witches, Trolls and Magic come to life onstage during our Fables & Fantasy camp! Have you ever wanted to be a wizard? How about a Princess? Do you enjoy creating fantasy stories? If so, then Sign up for this camp! Students will learn about fables and fantasy stories, from The Brothers Grimm, to Aesop’s Fables, and everything in between. Throughout the week elements of theatre such as costuming (including mask work and makeup), playwriting (plot, characters, conflict, etc.) & Improvisational skills, will be incorporated into the fantasy work! We’ll learn what makes a good fable and the characters we create will come to life in the original theatre piece created by the students & performed for family and friends on August 12th beginning at 5:30. This promises to be a magical camp for anyone who is not afraid to let their imagination run free! |
